Intensive construction is underway at the site near the village of Mesheishta, where the new 400/110 kV Ohrid substation is being built. Favorable weather conditions have enabled the Contractor to adhere to the planned project timeline. The development includes constructing retaining walls and slopes across an area of 80 000 m2, building the substation's command center, and laying the foundations for installing steel equipment supports for the 400 kV plant.

The members of the Management Board, led by General Director Burim Ljatifi, underscored the significance of this significant infrastructure project for the nation and the region. Investing in the transmission network strengthens cross-border connections and fosters good neighborly relations, paving the way for greater economic prosperity and improved living standards for our citizens.

The project finalizes the electricity interconnection with all neighboring countries, enhancing our power system's security, stability, and reliability. It also facilitates full integration into regional energy exchange initiatives and enables active participation in balancing and system services markets

The interconnection project with neighboring R. Albania is the highest investment in the transmission electricity network. It covers two components: the 400 kV transmission line SS Bitola 2—Albanian border and the construction of SS Ohrid, which will have a 400 kV input/output at 110 kV level to Ohrid, Struga, and Resen.
