AD MEPSO is one of the main parties that will work to solve property and legal issues that hold back the progress of capital projects regarding the transmission network in the upcoming period. The interinstitutional collaboration will involve the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Transport and Communication, Agency for Real Estate Cadaster, and Property and Legal Affairs Office.
At the meeting held in the Ministry of Energy, Burim Latifi, Director-General of AD MEPSO, pointed out that due to long and complex administrative procedures for gaining decisions for property and legal matters and registering the state property in the Agency for Real Estate Cadaster, several critical infrastructural projects are blocked, among which the construction of the new substation near the village of Miletkovo, being a significant part of the transmission network modernization strategy.
“During the realization of such strategic projects, we face serious obstacles chiefly due to the property and legal matters that directly affect the project progress dynamics. Knowing the importance of such projects for the energy stability and integration of the Macedonian electricity market in the regional and European electricity markets, the institutions must collaborate more actively and effectively to speed up the solution of cases. Hence, we will be a step before the challenges, while the energy projects will be completed timely and without additional financial implications,” said Latifi.
According to Latifi, the institutions’ adamance to tackle challenges like this will undoubtedly lead to the desired goal: the active realization of energy projects critical for stable and reliable electricity transmission.
